Leadership Principles (Part 1 of 2)
6 Leadership Principles (Part 1 of 2) are shared by Jason Schreyer, Owner of Sunset Air and Home Services, who is celebrating 20 years in business this year.
Leadership principles: #1 Be Fearless
The first leadership principle is also one of the biggest challenges I had to overcome. I learned you cannot let fear hold you back from taking that leap of faith and opening a business. The true test comes when you are severing ties with your current employer or initiating a conversation at a networking event.
Perhaps one of the most frightening of all situations for me was watching the market take a downward dive, knowing there were some tough decisions ahead. I knew I had to remain calm and keep moving forward.
#2 Grow as a Leader
At an early age working at the marina, I put in many hours, assisting boaters with anything they needed. I wanted to please my customers. The feedback I received motivated me to learn how to lead by example. This drive to be successful has continued throughout my career. Today, I encourage my employees at Sunset Air and Home Services to do their best personally and professionally.
#3 Think Outside the Box
Another leadership principle I have learned to practice is to explore new possibilities. This is a great strategy for business owners. An AC company selling custom cabinetry might seem out of the ordinary, at first. However, I decided to keep an open mind when presented with this idea. I looked at it as an opportunity to offer our customers an additional way to improve their homes and lives.
As a result, Sunset Custom Cabinetry and Woodwork was born. Now, our clients receive beautiful custom cabinets and furniture from the same trusted leadership that has serviced their AC for the past 20 years.
Celebrating 20 years in business this year, Sunset Air and Home Services has helped thousands of SW Florida residents remain comfortable and safe in their homes with expert service, industry-leading AC systems, and a portfolio of home improvement products.
