7 AC Warranty Questions
When purchasing a new AC system, it is important to consider an extended warranty. This additional protection provides coverage for repairs and replacements beyond the manufacturer’s warranty, giving you peace of mind and saving you money in the long run.

It is important to note that not all extended warranty programs are created equal, as well as the AC Company providing this service. This is why we have noted several key questions below to ask your AC Company before purchasing an extended warranty.
1) What Does The Extended Warranty Cover?
Does it cover major components such as compressors, coils, or motors? Will labor costs and diagnostic fees be included?

A good extended warranty should provide comprehensive protection for both parts and labor, sparing you unexpected out-of-pocket expenses down the road.
2) How Long Is The Coverage Period?
Extended warranties vary in duration, typically anywhere from 5 to 10 years beyond the standard warranty. Be sure you understand how long the extended warranty lasts and that the coverage aligns with the lifespan of your AC system.
3) Are There Maintenance Requirements?
Many warranties (including extended warranties) require routine maintenance to stay valid.

So, you will want to know who is responsible for keeping up with the maintenance schedule? Will you get a call from your AC Company as a reminder or is it up to you to keep track?
4) What Is Not Included?
Most warranties have limitations, so be sure to get clear about what is not covered. For example, some warranties exclude damage caused by acts of God, improper installation, power surges, or lack of maintenance.

When you work with our AC Company, we will take the time to explain all the details to ensure you fully understand the program.
5) How Much Does It Cost?
Are you required to pay up front? Also, be sure to clarify exactly what you are paying for…does the cost include labor and parts?
6) Is It Transferable?
If you decide to sell your home before the warranty expires, ask if it can be transferred to the new homeowner.

This can add value to your property and appeal to potential buyers.
7) Who Will Submit The Claim?
If something goes wrong with your HVAC system, call us first. Once we determine if the issue is covered, our AC Company will submit the paperwork on your behalf.
